Library of Congress Call Number Search: This is the type of call number used for most books, bound volumes of periodicals, and other items in the collection. Doing this type of search lets you electronically "browse" the shelves in call number order. There are other kinds of Call Number searches that you may also wish to use:
Click in the box, type at least part of a Call Number, and then click the Search button (or press the Enter key)

Library of Congress call numbers are designed to arrange items according to their subject, so that when you find one item on a topic there should be other similar items nearby.

A Library of Congress Call Number Search lets you do this kind of search from your computer. Type in as much (or little) of a call number as you wish to:

Q -- This takes you to the beginning of the letter Q (science).
QA -- This takes you to the QA section of call numbers (mathematics).
QA76 -- This takes you to the QA76 section (computer books).
QA76.73 -- This takes you to QA76.73 (programming languages).
QA76.73 C15 -- This takes you to QA76.73 C15 (the C programming language).
